I am Dra. Betty Calabria Ochoa, the pathway i have traveled to get here has not been easy but it has been very pleasant.
I started my studies to become a Medical Doctor at the University of Zulia, also my specialty in Pediatrics . The Zulia University is one of the most prestigious universities in all Latin America.
I decided to become a Pediatrician because I always have an affinity or connection with children.
After I finished my Pediatric Specialty, I still wanted to study other Specialty related to children that will help me to take care of them. So, I decided to do a fellow ship in the field of Neonatology and Pediatric Critical Medicine at the Venezuelan Central University.
I am very thankful to God because with his help and my efforts , I got the privilege of wining and scholarship to finish my studies in Pediatric Critical Medicine at one of the Hospital’s in Caracas ( J. M. de Los Rios ) .
These postgraduate fellowship represented for me the best two years of my professional life. My postgraduate studies in Critical Medicine was a very enriching learning ,not only for my specialty also for my path in life.
Be able to study in depth the various Pediatric pathologies have changed my perspective of taking care of my patients and what is the most important thing for me is: That I have learned to serve from my HEART.
Actually , I am practicing both specialties :
Neonatology and Pediatric Critical Medicine
I started my professional career in Public Health Hospitals in Maracaibo – Venezuela for 25 years, representing these work another great school of learning.
After these wonderful experience I began to practice my Specialties in private Clinics until today.
During all these years I have got extensive experience approaching all the levels and complexity of my specialty.
I have dedicated my life to take care of my children from their first visit until they become adults at 21 years old. I do whatever is in my hands to support parents in the process of raising a child.
I feel that in my Specialty (Pediatrics) the fundamental thing is to believe in the testimonies that the children’s parents share with me. They know their children better than me and they can detect their changes in every way (behavior, attitude) and they recognize immediately when something is going wrong with them .
I certainly believe that “THE BEST PEDIATRICIAN FOR THE CHILDREN ARE THEIR PARENTS “

- With FUNDAPSIED Miami (Fundación Psicoeducativa) I was trained in the Mature Development Protocol (PDM) and in sensory integration.
- Director of CEPI Foundation (Children’s Personalized Training Center).
- Coordinator of the Pediatric Emergency of the Western Medical Center.
Member of the Venezuelan Society of Critical Medicine.
